For the first time ever in Jayden Marriott’s career, his collection of abstracts will be on view. Inspired by childlike wonder and creativity, his works emit an energy that is best to be experienced in person.
A big Thank You goes out to the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang, for being able to give me this opportunity to share my work with the public, it is greatly appreciated.

I’M WITH YOU, I ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.
This collection of paintings, I’M WITH YOU, I ALWAYS HAVE BEEN are drawn from the childlike wonder and energy that, as a child, I used to create art with.
When we are children, there are no rules when creating art. Whether something looks real, or right, or pleasant is not relevant and the concepts of risk, reward and consequence and null and void. Painting in abstracts allowed me to revisit these ideas and to truly express myself in a way that feels authentic and pure.It is refreshing to invite play and experimentation into my practice, and when looking back now, this is the same principle I applied to creativity as a child.
My mind is now evolving to cater for so many new thoughts and emotions that clutter and distract from how beautiful and raw making art is. At times, I find myself responding to so many stifling and paralysing concepts I had no mind for as a kid.
To still express myself in the same way I did as a child through these paintings is a sweet reminder that unhindered wonder and imagination are still with me. I consider myself extremely lucky to be an artist.I am very grateful to MAC yapang who have given me this opportunity. To any public viewing this exhibition, thank you very much for engaging with my work!
